There are some interesting personalities living just a few miles east of Athens. Ben Callison, Director of Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch, told the Athens Kiwanis members that the animal sanctuary is a haven for more than 1,100 animals who have been rescued from lives or abuse and neglect.
